My favorite song off of Rena Jones' Dirftwood album. Having been around Rena for a good portion of the creation of that album I had a really good idea of what sort of picture she was painting - There was supposed to be a remix album but that didnt pan out for whatever reason. This is the remix I put together doing my take on the idea of the cycle of life - from seed to sapling to tree to driftwood.
My wife Alisha and I took a recorder deep into the back country of Yellowstone national park and recorded the sounds of as many branches and dry twigs as we could some of which later because the basis for the drum beat in this track. I experimented with going wild on the sound design front using IR reverbs with off the wall sounds as the impulse to create insane effects.

Magical and timeless all the way through. Favorite track would be The Aubergine of the Sun, except there's that part in the middle of Adrift where you start listening as a human and end up a one-eyed snail scrunching reality up into melting origami puzzles. a
